Brian & Benn's Movie Corner MP3 Talk Show To Launch May 2

Brian and Benn
Brian and Benn's Movie Corner continues to add unique features to their website on May 2 with the premier of their MP3 Movie Talk Show.
"We're rehearsing the format through April, looking for changes and ways to improve the show," says BBMC Director/critic Benn Farrell. "It's already a blast just getting our ducks in the same line. We've been talking about this show for months. We're so excited to finally get online and get started."
The upcoming MP3 Movie Talk Show will include movie reviews, trivia contests, special guests on occasion and on-location remotes. First remote on the show's calendar will be May 23 in line for the highly anticipated "Star Wars - Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith," which is released May 19.
With the debut of the show, BBMC will be moving to a sub domain of DockRat Entertainment, allowing the site's design to include the corner's new and exciting features.
"What I like most about our plans for this show is that it's not internet radio," Farrell explains. "The entire show is recorded as an MP3, so people can download it to their computers, iPods and the like, or simply listen to the show on our server.
"Visitors can listen at their liesure instead of logging on at a specific time. It's far more convenient that way." Farrell also says a six month archive of the show will be available on the BBMC website, in case listeners miss a certain week's show and want to catch up.
Colorado Springs Video In Talks Over Producing "Fat Farm" With DR

Mark and Benn
"Fat Farm," a stageplay written by Benn Farrell (right) earlier this year (2005), is now material for possible DV motion picture production from Colorado Springs Video (CSV) and DockRat Entertainment respectively.
Recently, film and video maker Mark Tachna (left) of CSV met with the playwright/producer to discuss changes and additions to the now existent script, preparing the story for a more visual style.
"Mark (Tachna) has a few great ideas to push the story and message of the work further than the stage can carry it," says Farrell. "So far, we're on the same page, as far as changes go. It should be an exciting process, drafting a screenplay for it."
As the two entities explore pre-production on "Fat Farm," Tachna has been named to produce and direct the project, while Farrell will write and produce. Currently, production options are being explored to figure financing needs.

"Mourning News" Gets Halloween
Reading Party in Switz

Halloween 2004, Benn Farrell's latest work for the stage "Mourning News" was given a proper send off with a reading party in Le Vaud, Switzerland.
"I was very pleased with what I heard," says Farrell.  "I'll be making a couple edits and correcting typing mistakes we found to comprise a final draft.  I haven't done one of these reading parties for a script in a long time. It was a blast. Everyone had a lot of fun with it.
"A reading party is good to have for a new work. It kind of gives the piece a birth into the world. I really have to thank everyone who participated. It made the new script special."
Farrell states "Mourning News" will be self published and manuscripts available by request within the next two weeks.  More information on the play is available at Farrell's writing website www.bennscripts.dockratent.com/mourningnewspage1.html.  Currently, he is developing his next stageplay, tentatively titled "Fat Farm."
DR's Benn Farrell To Spend
Year In Switzerland

Benn on public transportation boat in Zurich      After working as a journalist in southeast Colorado for the past three and a half years, DockRat Entertainment artistic director Benn Farrell will be spending a year in the Nyon area of Switzerland. There he joins familiar DR faces Tony and Viviane Hughes and their daughter Iris. Farrell plans on using the time to continue his entertainment writing, including upcoming stageplay "Out in Pittsburgh," screenplay "So Funny People" and developing episodes of DR's TV sitcom "Mourning News" with Tony Hughes. In addition, Farrell hopes to return with a manuscript for his non-fiction humorous self help book about dating single mothers.
"The DR website will function as normal," Farrell states. "All the email addresses will not change and the site will remain up and maintained throughout my time in Europe. Movie reviews will still continue to be added to the site as usual. However, all orders taken on the site will not be filled until after November 20, 2004, when I make a visit home."
Farrell also notes that he and movie review cohort Brian Felts are planning to publish and release an anthology of their more humorous write-ups from summer 2003 to summer 2005.

The project was completed and released in May of 2004, with a public premier screened at the Grand Theater in Rocky Ford on July 10. Copies of the documentary can be obtained as a gift for a donation of $15 to the RFFFA. All proceeds raised with the video go towards the "Moving Wall" Foundation.

Rocky Ford Fire Fighters Association Gives DockRat Camera Grant
Elaine Bolling, Benn Farrell and Gary Ratliff
Rocky Ford Fire Fighters Association (RFFFA) recently provided a camera grant to DockRat Entertainment. After discussing the camera problems DR had experienced over the past year, RFFFA decided to front half the funds DR executive director Benn Farrell, middle, needed to purchase a camera and complete several projects, which were shelved due to a lack of equipment. The other half will be repaid by DR at their leisure. One of DR's projects, in turn for the grant, is a documentary on the visit of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial "Moving Wall," which the RFFFA hosted in May of 2002 at the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds in RF. RFFFA secretary Elaine Bolling, left, and chairman Gary Ratliff, right, submitted photos and video of the week long "Moving Wall" visit from set up to tear down. DockRat and Farrell will be providing post-production and mastering on the project for the RFFFA to sell copies of. "It's been a rough year for us without a camera, but now we're ready to roll thanks to this extremely kind offer from the RFFFA," states Farrell. "DockRat fans can look forward to the release of several Internet and videotape projects once we make good on a handful of local productions."
