Synopsis: SBC Television Network is in trouble after the latest ratings
are released. Programming is in the dumps and everyone's job from the bottom up is
in jeopardy, especially after the CEO is replaced.
Head of Development Dexter Klein calls an emergency meeting in the wake of network
turmoil with SBC's best writers, bringing with them largely diverse background. Young
animator Dennis, grey-haired award winner Carl, experienced
funny-man Todd and commercially driven hack Caroline find
themselves writing to keep their livelihoods, when Klein demands they create a pilot
episode for a new series within 24 hours, powerful and original enough to bring SBC out
of the gutter or all of them are fired.
Now the writers must work past their differences to save each other, while Dennis suffers
from his unrequited love for Shelly, Klein's assistant, also threatened with
unemployment. Based on the play by Benn Farrell, "24 Hours..." is the single-camera
recording of its world premier performance.
